SalesPoint
Application is a package that implements business transaction
methods including Management of Sales & Financial Transaction.
SalesPoint Package works as a client/server system
and it’s also available as a stand-alone, where the application and back
end (RDBMS) resides on the same computer. As a client/server system it
operates in a networked environment and has components residing on both
the server computer and workstation. (The components on the server
include a relational database management system (RDBMS) Microsoft Access
Application. The database of user information also resides on the server.
As far as users are concerned, the client component is the application,
which has been installed on each workstation, which works hand-in-hand
with the server components).
The SalesPoint Package application has been
implemented in a modular design. Different modules handle Sales, Product
and Financial Transaction functions, while another handles Reports. Modules
can be accessed from the same screen.
The SalesPoint Package client application runs
on Windows operating system (OS) and uses Windows services and conforms
to the guidelines for the Windows user interface.
User security is implemented through user ids and password. Within
each module, users may be restricted by specific commands and functions.
At the server side, referential integrity is maintained to safeguard against
invalid data.
